INVITATION TO BID
 
CITY OF CLARKSTON, GA
LIMITED CLEARING & VEGETATION REMOVAL AT FRIENDSHIP FOREST PASSIVE PARK
 
The City of Clarkston, Georgia (‘City”) will receive sealed Bids from qualified contractors to successfully
accomplish the following work: “Limited Clearing& Vegetation Removal at Friendship Forest Passive
Park”. This work entails furnishing all labor, materials and equipment for selective undergrowth clearing and
removal, tree removal, tree pruning, application of herbicide to root systems of removed vegetation,
placement of woody mulch and related tasks and activities. Bids shall be on a unit price basis.
 
The project shall be Substantially Complete within 45 calendar days from the date of notice to proceed with
performance of the contract. The City Project Engineer will delineate and provide direction as to the limits of
work activities.
 
The City will receive bids until 1:00 PM; March 3rd, 2017 at City of Clarkston Annex, 1055 Rowland Street,
Clarkston, GA 30021; ATTN: Dan Defnall, Finance Director. Bids received after that time will not be
accepted. Bids may be mailed or hand-delivered. Email transmittal of bid is not acceptable. Bids will be
opened and publicly read aloud in the City Annex on March 3rd, 2017 following receipt of bids. A nonmandatory
pre-bid conference will be held on February 27th, 10:00 AM at Friendship Forest; 4380 East
Ponce de Leon; Clarkston, GA 30021.
 
Bidders are strongly encouraged to attend the pre-bid meeting.
 
No bonds are required. Bid documents are available for download from the City of Clarkston web site;
 
Bids shall be presented in a sealed envelope with the project name and the name of the company or firm submitting
clearly marked on the outside of the envelope. ONE (1) ORIGINAL (PAPER) AND ONE (1) COPY (PAPER) MUST
BE SUBMITTED. Bids will not be accepted verbally, by fax or email.
 
Award will be made to the vendor submitting the lowest responsive and responsible bid. The City of Clarkston
reserves the right to reject any or all bids and re-advertise, to waive any informalities or irregularities and to make an
award as deemed in its best interest. The written bid documents supersede any verbal or written prior communications
between the parties.

All questions regarding the bid documents shall be made via email to Larry Kaiser, PE, Project Manager at
kaiser@co-infra-services.com. The deadline to submit questions is no later than 5:00 PM; February 27th,
2017. The City will post all “Response to Questions and/or Addenda”, if applicable, on the city web site by
no later than 12:00 PM on February 28th, 2017. It is the responsibility of the bidder to ensure that Larry
Kaiser receives the email transmittal. A confirmation call from the bidder will be acceptable.
