NOTICE OF GENERAL AND SPECIAL ELECTION

QUALIFYING REQUIREMENTS AND REGISTRATION

Notice is hereby given that a General Election and aSpecial Election will be held in the City of Clarkston on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, to elect a Mayor and three (3) Council Members to the Clarkston City Council.  The term of office is four (4) years and the elected officials will be sworn in at the January 2018 meeting of the City Council. Additionally, a Special Election will be held to fill an unexpired term on the City Council; said term expires December 31, 2019. 

Voting will take place at the Clarkston First Baptist Church Family Life Center at 4007 Church Street, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.   Any person who is a resident of the City of Clarkston and who is registered at least thirty (30) days prior to this election with the DeKalb County Board of Registrations and Elections as an elector within the City of Clarkston shall be eligible to vote in this election.  Deadline for voter registration is October 10, 2017.        

Application for absentee ballots may be made by mail or in person to the Absentee Ballot Clerk, DeKalb County Elections Division, 4380 Memorial Drive, Decatur, GA 30032, 404-298-4020. 

This notice is given pursuant to Chapter 21 of the Official Code of Georgia, as amended, pertaining to municipal elections, this 6th September, 2017.
