Vice mayor Dean Moore called the meeting to order at 6:30PM.
Roll Call: Awet Eyasu, Ahmed Hassan, Dean Moore, Jamie Carroll
Mayor Terry and Councilman Mario Williams absent
Ms. Lee, Teacher at Freedom Middle School discussed a proposed soccer program she requested the Council to assist funding.
Ms. Davidson, Spoke in support of the proposed funding for a soccer program at Freedom Middle School.
Mr. Ali spoke in support of Sagal radio and the proposed soccer program for Freedom Middle School.
Ms. Rubenstein, Board Member Sagal Radio, Spoke in support of increased funding for Sagal radio in 2018.
Ms. Malveda, CDF Action, Discussed the Council providing funding for the annual “Tell Me A Story” program.
A. NEW BUSINESS
E1) 2018 Budget Adoption
1) 2018 Budget Presentation
Mr. Barker provided a power point presentation on the Proposed 2018 Budget and provided financial information relating to revenue, expenditures, and grants funds.
2) Public Hearing – To take public comment on the 2018 Proposed Operating & Enterprise Fund Budget
Sagal Radio requested a review of the proposed funding to see if their amount could be increased ass the City seemed to have increased revenues. Finance Director Defnall clarified that the increased revenues were anticipated SPLOST and Grant revenues that are for obligated expenses.
No further public comments. The Vice Mayor closed the Public Hearing.
Awet Eyasu made a motion to adjourn the special call meeting. Ahmed Hassan seconded the motion. A vote was called and the motion carried (4, 0).
