Effective 7-23-2019, Clarkston will have two (2) Voting Precincts to better serve the registered voters. Recent annexations raised the number of registered voters to 6,281. DeKalb Elections has ordered new Precinct cards and those will be mailed to affected voters once received from the State Elections.

In June 2019, the City Council established a Youth Advisory Council (YAC) to serve as an advisory body to the Clarkston City Council.
The mission of the Youth Advisory Council shall be to advise the Mayor, City Council, and City Manager with recommendations and input on how the City of Clarkston might address their needs, community issues, and all other matters affecting youth.

The Public Safety/Legal and Civic Innovation SAC have scheduled a meeting for August 20, 2019 starting at 7:00PM. The Meeting will be held in the Council Room, 3921 Church Street. The Public is invited to attend.
