The City of Clarkston is seeking dedicated residents to fill open seats on the Historic Preservation Commission (1 vacancy) and the Planning and Zoning Board (3 vacancies). These boards are vital to shaping Clarkston’s future while preserving its unique identity.


Board Responsibilities

  • Historic Preservation Commission
    This commission is dedicated to preserving Clarkston’s architectural and cultural heritage. Members review applications for alterations to historic properties, recommend preservation initiatives, and promote public awareness of the city’s history.
  • Planning and Zoning Board
    This board advises on land use, zoning requests, and development plans to guide sustainable growth, enhance community alignment, and shape the future of Clarkston’s built environment.

Who Should Apply?

For the Historic Preservation Commission
We are looking for individuals who:

  • Have knowledge of or interest in historic architecture, local history, or preservation efforts.
  • Are passionate about safeguarding Clarkston’s cultural heritage and identity.
  • Can bring a thoughtful, community-focused perspective to the table.

For the Planning and Zoning Board
We are seeking residents who:
